Increase Traffic With Viral Marketing

Viral Marketing is another form of getting your business or product known, without you doing the marketing. Viral marketing is where you get your customers to advertise your product by word of mouth.
This can substantially increase traffic to your product without you even having to market it yourself. But how do you get somebody else to advertise for you, for free? Here are some tips to get your started.
Inflict Emotion
The start to viral marketing you want to make other people excited to inflict emotion into them. When something happens to a person that makes them extremely happy, sad, angry, etc, what do they do? They tell someone about it. People are naturally social beings. They like to share other information with other people, and mainly regarding how they feel. This is a good thing for you because if you are able to make someone feel something, not only will that customer be satisfied and more willing to give you money, they are directly telling people that trust them how they feel.
Strategic Advertising
Why do people remember advertisements? They don't remember them because of the "amazing" product that was shown, they remember it because it was funny or made them feel something. Think about all the Super Bowl commercials. Each company competes and tries to make the most memorable commercial. They have to work extremely hard to inflict more emotion than any of the other commercials being shown. This is a great example of viral marketing. A lot of Super Bowl commercials get played over and over again. Friends show friends, friends show family, etc. They aren't showing how great the product is, they're showing how it made them feel.
Get Attention, Keep It There
A lot of people work hard to get where they want to be, and then they stop. They quit doing what they did to make them successful, and then it starts going down hill from there. The same thing is true with marketing. Once you have an audience built up, don't do less, do more! If you are able to build an audience from nothing, then think of what you could accomplish with a group of people waiting to share your latest and greatest.
Encourage Sharing
YouTube is a great example of the sharing of media. From YouTube you can download a video, post it on a website with the URL, copy the code and paste it right into the HTML of a webpage, etc.
